Visitors brag about their great luck on fishing trips here. That’s all thanks to the county bigwigs who created this classic Southern reservoir in 1930 and assumed any submerged timber awould naturally decay. However, nearly 100 years later, submerged stumps and cypress still dot the lake, creating homes for hungry bass, bream, crappie, and catfish. A valid state fishing license is required and can be purchased at the Visitors Center.
